Grant Processes and Pricing

OMC can help with your grant projects

Below is a dropdown menu of our services and price estimates to assist you as you build out your proposals. When you are ready for a formal consultation and quote for your grant project, please submit a request through the OMC project request form.

Important notes for all grant projects

This list is as comprehensive as possible, but we recommend consulting with OMC for a specific quote for your grant project before it is officially submitted. OMC cannot guarantee your grant budget will meet your needs without a formal consultation and quote.

Timelines

  • Timelines are determined based on the scope of the project. The requestor/point of contact is expected to provide prompt and timely feedback. Failure to do so may result in project delays or cancellations.
As you develop your project scope, consider these timeline factors:

    • When is the proposal due? It takes time to develop a quote. We recommend allowing time for a startup meeting to determine the full scope of your needs. If adequate time is not allowed before grant submission, quotes may be less accurate.
    • When will the finalists be announced? Grant sponsors sometimes require revisions to the proposal scope at this stage. Be prepared to reach out to OMC for a follow-up consultation, if that occurs.
    • When do you anticipate the grant will be awarded?
    • When will all the necessary data and materials be ready for OMC?  We ask that, as much as possible, you plan to assemble all components (photos, text, data, etc.) before OMC begins work on your project.

Contingency allowance

  • If you think you may later require items outside of the original grant scope, consider including a contingency allowance in your grant proposal. Added tasks for OMC beyond the originally quoted scope will incur extra costs, regardless of grant allotment.

    Travel*

    • Travel time is billed $50 per hour.

    • All travel costs are paid or reimbursed directly by the requester. This includes lodging, rental car, taxi service to pick up/return car, fuel, and per diem meals.

    Videography*

    • $200/hour

    Video editing*

    • Editing is $200/hour

These costs include the review process, captioning, and exporting of final video.

These costs do not include creation of alternative versions, such as a vertical version for social media platforms like TikTok. Additional versions are each counted as additional editing passes.

The final rate is determined by the length of the final video multiplied by the number of editing passes (such as the clip addition pass, the color correction pass, the graphics pass, the audio pass, etc.).

    • Some examples are listed below:

    • A simple one camera lecture might take one hour to edit after adding some basic text, adjusting audio, adjusting image, and exporting. Therefore, in addition to the videography cost, a $200 editing fee would be added.

    • A “brand anthem” style video that includes a script, a voiceover, music, and b-roll video clips would be billed based on the length of the video in minutes multiplied by the number of passes of edits. This video could have 3 passes – the clip addition, the color correction pass, and an audio pass. Therefore a 5-minute video would be billed as:

      5 (minutes) x 3 (passes) = 15 hours of editing at $200 per hour for a total of $3000.

    • A more complicated video edit would include a clip addition pass, a color correction pass, an audio pass, a graphic pass, and a narrative structure pass (which means creating a narrative from pre-recorded interviews, rather than using a script). This pass, depending on the number and length of interviews, could be considered one pass, or multiple passes. Using the formula from the above example, could be:

5 (minutes) x 5 (passes) =25 hours of editing at $200 per hour for a total of $5000.

    Voiceover

    • In-house – $100 per 5 minutes of script.

    • 3rd party vendor – OMC will facilitate contact with vendors. Vendors make their own prices.
